Development Updates

It’s been a while since my last post so I have a few product development updates for you.

Mini Stepper Module

The Mini Stepper Module has completed beta testing and is now available. This module enables the use of small inexpensive stepper motors like those used in automobile gauges. The Mini Stepper module can drive 12 of those mini stepper motors. The inexpensive motors together with the mini stepper module can bring down the cost of implementing your panel. If you want to drive very light movements, such as a gauge pointer the Mini Stepper Module is the way to go. If you want to drive something heavier like a rotating housing in an artificial horizon you need a Stepper Module. See the Mini Stepper Module product page for more information.

DCS World Plug-in

The DCS World Plug-in is in the final stages of beta testing and will be released soon. This plug-in adds DCS World to the list of flight sims supported by the Cockpit Software Suite (CSS). The first release of the plug-in supports the WWII era planes of DCS World.

  • TF-51
  • P-51D
  • BF-109 K-4
  • FW-190 D-9
  • Spitfire Mk IX

Cockpit Software Suite (CSS)

An updated version of CSS has been released. This version contains a few bug fixes and feature enhancements (including support for the DCS World Plug-in). Check out the release notes on the downloads page for more information

Trimmer Module

The next module in development is the trimmer module. The trimmer module provides 8 axis (trimmer) inputs and 8 encoder inputs. This gives you the ability to easily connect analog input items such as a throttle input or a trim control input that use a potentiometer. The encoder inputs give you the ability to connect rotary inputs, such as might be used for a radio tuner control or any other multi-turn device implemented using an encoder. The trimmer module appears to your PC like a joystick so you can map the inputs directly in your flight sim program. This module is in the alpha test stage so check back for a release date.
